How to clean after using the spray gun

After use, the spray gun and its accessories shall be cleaned immediately. Maintenance and cleaning of no small medal are the main causes of spray gun failure.

When cleaning the suction feed spray gun, first remove the paint tank and flow the suction pipe into the cup. Then loosen the air cap for 2-3 turns, block the air cap with a folded rag, and then pull the trigger. This allows the paint in the spray gun to flow back into the paint tank.

Note: the air pressure used should be low. When the paint tank is still installed on the gun, do not carry out the above operations, otherwise the paint will splash out from the tank.

Tighten the air cap again and pour the paint in the paint tank back into the original large tank. Clean the inside of the cup and the cup cover with solvent and a thin brush) and wipe off the residue with a solvent soaked rag. Then pour a little clean detergent into the cup, pull the trigger, spray the detergent and clean the conveying pipe.

Then remove the air cap, soak it in diluent or solvent, and clean the blocked small holes with a soft brush like a round head toothbrush or straw broom. Remember, never clean these small holes with things like iron wire or nails, because these small holes are precision drilled. Clean the nozzle with a spray gun brush and solvent. Wipe the outside of the gun body with a cloth soaked with diluent, and pay attention to wipe off all paint traces.

At present, in some areas and units, automatic gun cleaning machines have been used to clean the gun in combination with manual hand washing, and the cleaning effect is very good. Put the spraying equipment into the barrel of the spray gun cleaning and recycling machine, cover the barrel cover, and then turn on the pneumatic pump to rotate the cleaning liquid in the cleaning barrel. The equipment can clean all parts in less than 1 minute for use. Compared with the traditional manual cleaning method, the automatic cleaning fluid can save 10 minutes for changing the paint. The cleaner increases the safety of the painter because the skin is no longer exposed to those solvents with drying effect. In the design of the system, there is a screw plug at the bottom, which can easily discharge the waste liquid.

A large amount of solvent will remain during the cleaning of the spray gun. If it is directly poured out, it is very wasteful and not conducive to environmental protection. The solvent recovery machine uses high-temperature distillation to recover the dirty solvent, which can get clean solvent, save a lot of solvent and protect the environment.

Note: if the spray gun is not cleaned immediately after use, the nozzle will partially or completely plug up, resulting in spray splitting (spray dried paint debris) or spray shape not correct. This is especially true for enamels with additives. Because the enamel will harden inside the spray gun if it is not cleaned immediately after use.
